June 4th is the registration deadline if you want to stay in the dorms or join us for the BBQ (Fri.) and/or the Dinner Buffet (Sat.).  We need to give a final head count to the caterers well in advance so they can order enough food.  If you register onsite, we cannot accommodate you in the dorms, nor guarantee that there will be seats available for meals.

Black Flies

Black flies are a feature of the North Country. While they are not a problem on campus, we expect them to make an appearance at the BBQ picnic by the Raquette River on Friday night, and most certainly will be uninvited guests on the Outings.

Remember to bring bug dope and a head net!

Other preventive measures you can try:
  • Wear long sleeved, light colored shirts
  • Wear a broad rimmed hat
  • Spray deet on your clothing
  • Hope for a breezy day!

Cell Phone Service

Yes, we have reliable cell phone service in Potsdam, and in Canton.

South of Potsdam, service can be pretty sketchy.  Between Watertown and Canton, it fades in and out. You can count on very little service in the Adirondacks, except populated areas such as Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and Tupper Lake.  You can sometimes get service on mountain tops, but usually not on the hiking trails or valleys.

Best bet...don't count on it while you are traveling to Potsdam.  Once you are here, you should be fine.

Refund Policies

The registration fee is not refundable.

No refunds on dorms, meals or concert tickets after June 5, 2013.

Please note that credit card transactions that require refunds will always be credited directly to the account.

Outings Schedule

We have 30 outings scheduled, so if you like to hike, paddle or bike, we have something for you!

Click here to see a complete list of our outings schedule on our ADK Spring Outing 2013 website!

Non-participating Guests

If you are a spouse, partner, friend, etc. of an outing guest, and would like to join us for meals and/or stay in the dorms, but don't want to hike, paddle, or bike, you may register as a non-participating guest for a reduced fee of $10.

Use the registration form, and select the registration option "non-participating guest," and also select the meals, dorm rooms and concert options you desire.

If you only want to attend the Saturday June 15th Concert (Dan Berggren, Dan Duggan, and Peggy Lynn) and not join us for meals or stay in the dorms, then there is no need to register.  Concert tickets will be sold at the door.

Breakfast and Lunch

Unfortunately we could not make arrangements for breakfast or box lunches with our campus caterers.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

KITCHEN FACILITIES:
There are kitchen facilities in the basement of Draime Main available for all outing participants.  There are no pots, pans, utensils or dishware, but there is a stove, refrigerator, sink, etc.  Bear in mind that the kitchen is not secure, so that if you leave food or cooking utensils in the kitchen, you do so at your own risk.

Registering for the Dorms

If you plan to spend two nights in the dorms, the second night cost is 50% of the first night cost.

Single room:
$40 for one night
$60 for two nights

Double room:
$28 for one night per person
$42 for two nights per person

If there are two of you staying in a double, you will need to complete separate registration forms, and register and pay separately for the one room.  The separate registration forms are so we can track individual's preferences for meals, outings and entertainment options.  So, for two people staying in a double, it actually costs $56 for one night (per room) and $84 for two nights (per room).

Make sure you indicate who your roommate is on the registration form.  We will assign your designated roommate to your double room.  If you don't specify a roommate, we will assign one.

Wireless on Campus

Bring your tech toys!

Logon information for campus network access will be included in your registration packets.

Wireless is available in most buildings on campus, but not in Lehman Park (where we are having the Friday BBQ).  Wireless map here.

Bear in mind that while some dorm rooms will have wireless access, there are dead zones.  We recommend you bring an ethernet cable if you want more reliable access in your dorm room.  Wireless will be more reliable in common areas.

Technical support will be limited as most offices are closed on the weekend.

If your laptop or other device does not have a wireless network card, don't fret! if you bring an ethernet cable, you will be able to connect in your dorm room.

Dorm Rooms

Singles:  $40 for the first night; $20 for the second night
Doubles:  $28 per person for the first night; $14 per person for the second night
